This Somerville, Tennessee home is a dream realized by the owners with the vision of McClure Architecture. The goal of this property was to be a weekend getaway for family and friends. To accommodate growing grandkids, lofts were built above the first floor bedrooms that include custom made bunk beds which can be accessed by a library ladder. In the back of the property, there is a barn that not only houses equipment, but also mimics the home with a custom cupola and built-out loft space used as a playroom for foosball and pool tables.
Back at the house, the architecture features expansive glass all along the back exterior for full lake views as well as a sleek wood ceiling with exposed trusses. To continue the warmth of the home, custom natural wood cabinetry was added from Midtown Cabinetry. In contrast to the warm, farmhouse interior, the homes exterior features a modern touch with a standing seam metal roof as well as a precast concrete block façade and screen wall, which will act as a trellis to grow ivy to help blend the home into the natural surroundings.
