Classic Kitchen
This project, which had been updated 20-30 years prior, was brought to RKA from the homeowner who set out to open up and modernize the main family spaces.
RKA installed a larger window in the kitchen to bring in more natural light for the space, and white was chosen for the wall color and cabinetry to reflect the incoming light. A bar area was constructed in the home and serves as a pass through between the kitchen and living spaces. To add more comfort and convenience to the family areas, RKA built out a new powder room as well as a mudroom and office. The homeowner wanted the mudroom to house a storage system for each member of the family and chose a locker system to do so. To keep all of the family’s “to-do’s” contained, the office was built as a space to keep mail, send emails and wrap gifts.
